On Thursday 21 February, Onward and Create Streets are coming together to hold a major day-long conference, with speeches, panel sessions and breakout sessions on specific topics. Confirmed speakers include Rt Hon James Brokenshire MP; Sir Edward Lister, Chairman of Homes England; Neil O’Brien OBE MP; Steve Quartermain, Chief Planner, MHCLG; Dr Yolande Barnes, Chair, UCL Bartlett Real Estate Institute and many more.
The conference will focus on:
- The creation of new stand-alone communities, major urban extensions and other strategic-scale housing developments;
- The role local authorities might play in future in land assembly (particularly in light of HRA cap lifting); and
- How to ensure more of the value created in new development benefits the community
The conference is intended to bring together senior figures from government, local government, industry, community-led housing and resident and community groups, to facilitate expert and informed discussion on material issues and to facilitate conversations beyond ‘the people I always meet.’
Please find full details at our dedicated conference website: www.creatingcommunities.co where you can also register for the event.
