Economic and social views of ‘contract voters’ and ‘loyal conservatives’

Looking at a comparison of social and economic views, Contract Conservatives – those who voted for the party despite it not being their first choice – are extremely difcult to distinguish in terms of their economic and social views from other Conservative voters. They are slightly more ideologically diverse than authentically Conservative voters, but otherwise have a near identical average position.
