Increase in Conservative vote share vs Leave vote share, seats that changed hands in 2019

In Leave leaning seats the Conservative party saw its vote share increase by an average of 5.1 percentage points, and the main Conservative party in the seat saw its vote decline by an average of 10.0 percentage points.

The strong relationship between voting leave and a high swing towards the Conservatives, suggests that Brexit was a significant force in driving realignment, giving a once-in-a-generation impetus for people to reconsider their previous loyalties, and to switch the party that they chose to support.
