Events and Campaigns Manager
Onward is recruiting for an Events and Campaigns Manager.
This is a role with significant opportunity for political impact and innovation. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering Onward’s events programme, including speeches by senior ministers; building and maintaining relationships with MPs, peers, donors, journalists and business leaders, as well as supporting our campaigning activity. The role will involve a high level of organisation and planning skills, thinking creatively, and excellent people skills.
The successful candidate will bring together a strong track record for developing and delivering events, ideally in a political context, with an ability to design high impact campaigns or communications. They should have at least 2-3 years experience delivering events elsewhere, and doing so to the highest standard. They should be comfortable working with blue chip companies, government departments and well known figures, as well as interested in developing new and innovative ways of engaging new audiences and using new technologies in doing so.
You would be joining Onward at an important time for the organisation and the country. Having launched almost three years ago, we have quickly established a reputation for rigorous research that gets traction not only in newspapers but in changing government policy. We pride ourselves on developing policy ideas that are timely, practical to deliver and politically possible, and communicating them in ways that grabs the attention of those who make decisions. We are a small, tight-knit and high impact team, and are consistently rated among the most influential thinktanks in Westminster.
- Plan, manage and oversee the delivery of events, including private roundtables, public panel events and full-day conferences, on a regular basis and to a high standard. It is essential that you can manage multiple events concurrently and work constructively with partners to strict deadlines.
- Running digital and physical communications campaigns to communicate our policy research, increase our impact and engage new audiences. Experience with, and a willingness to try, new mediums and technologies is encouraged.
- Working with corporate and philanthropic partners to Onward to attract funding, to communicate events and research.
