Tourism recovery and the fabric of communities

The UK economy is starting to recover strongly from the devastating effects of the pandemic but several sectors, including tourism, remain some way off their pre-crisis peak and many communities continue to suffer.

The Government has set out its vision for rebuilding the industry in the Tourism Recovery Plan, which includes plans for reform and reinvestment in travel infrastructure. It also calls for better use of data in the sector – including a commitment to consult on a Tourist Accommodation Registration Scheme.

This event will bring together MPs, tourism leaders and industry representatives to discuss how to ensure a strong and balanced recovery for the tourism sector, and how doing so will aid the Government’s broader objectives of levelling up and bring opportunity to left behind places.
