This morning, Onward is partnering with the Department for Work and Pensions to launch the Pensions Dashboard, a new online portal to allow savers to access all their information in one place online.

In advance, Onward conducted exclusive polling with DeltaPoll on the dashboard. We found that:

  • 28% of people are not confident “that they would know how to access their pensions that they have built up during their career of employment”.
  • This is higher for women, 35% of whom say they are not confident they would know how to access their pension, and for key working age groups of 25-34s (35%) and 35-44s (38%). This suggests that many of the people who most need to be thinking about pensions do not know how to do so.
  • 33% of people think they “do not have any workplace pension scheme either currently or previously paid into”, despite auto-enrolment.
  • 66% of people say they would “use a digital tool – such as a website – that brought all of your pension savings into a single dashboard to show you how much you have saved and what income you will receive in retirement”.
