Coming up at Onward

Good afternoon,
I am delighted to invite you to our upcoming panel event Budget Breakdown: Analysing the 2022 Spring Budget and financial forecasts. The event will be held in person and streamed live on Wednesday, 23rd March from 17.00pm to 18.00pm.
We will be joined by Anthony Browne MP, Chair of the Backbench Treasury Committee, Shevaun Haviland, Director General of the British Chamber of Commerce, and Anna Isaac, Economics Editor at The Independent. It will be chaired by Tim Pitt, Partner at Flint Global and Onward Fellow.
This event will provide an immediate reaction to the Chancellor’s Budget on 23rd March and its likely impact on households, different regions and overall growth. We will discuss what the key measures were in the Chancellor’s Statement, what was missing, and whether he went far enough to tackle the defining economic challenges we face – from rising inflation and cost of living to fragile energy markets and the deepening conflict in Ukraine. We will also explore where this Budget leaves the public finances and what it might tell us about the Chancellor’s plans for tax and spending going into the next General Election.
