Coming up at Onward
In 2019, Onward established a network of young people that inspired fresh thinking through our Onward After Hours events. The pandemic forced us to pause, but now that restrictions have been lifted, there has never been a better time to reconvene our forums for young professionals.
For our first session back, we will be joined by Claire Coutinho MP, Member of Parliament for East Surrey, for a casual drink and chance to discuss the policy agenda and what matters most for young voters.
This event will bring together journalists, special advisors, parliamentary staffers and more, connecting the next generation of centre-right political thinkers.
Date: Wednesday, 20th April 2022
Time: 18.00pm – 20.30pm
Venue: Central Westminster Location. Drinks included.
Please note this event is for young professionals under the age of 35. If you would like to attend this event, please email james.bennett@ukonward.com
The transition to a net zero economy will require wholesale behavioral change by individuals and communities, at a pace similar to that seen in the society-wide adoption of previous technologies such as the internet and the motor car. We will all need to switch to low carbon energy sources, improve the environmental efficiency of our homes and offices, and adopt less carbon intensive transport and eating habits to decarbonise the UK economy.
This event will bring together senior policymakers and other stakeholders to discuss levers available to the Government to inspire the behaviour change required for the transition.
Speakers include:
- Rt Hon Philip Dunne MP, Chair of the Environmental Audit Select Committee
- Cllr Marisa Heath, Chief Executive of the Plant-Based Food Alliance UK
- Professor Frank Kelly, Chair of Community Health and Policy at Imperial College London
More speakers to be announced soon…
Date: Monday, 25th April 2022
Time: 15.30pm – 16.30pm
Venue: Central Westminster Location
