Call for manufacturing tax breaks to level up the country

On July 12th, we published Making a Comeback, which explains how a manufacturing renaissance can level up the country.

The report calls “for a shake-up to help firms create more posts and the Government deliver on its “levelling up” promise to Red Wall constituencies” – The Mirror.

Verity Davidge, policy director of manufacturing trade body Make UK, said: “If the pandemic has shown us anything, it is that the UK manufacturing sector remains the UK’s economic engine”

iNews reports that “Stoke Central MP Jo Gideon said there was “scope for increased productivity and more opportunities with well-paid jobs in areas of the country which have been left behind”.
