Empower parish councils to achieve levelling up

“Parish and town councils could be deployed to play a crucial role in the government’s totemic levelling up agenda, which has as two of its objectives ’empower local leaders and communities’ and to ‘restore local pride’.

“Unfortunately, the level of town and parish councils across the country varies greatly, with nearly two thirds (63%) of England currently not covered by a town or parish council, including much of Britain’s biggest cities and post-industrial towns.”
