inews

Director Sebastian Payne argues for higher salaries for senior civil servants, to retain their expertise. He writes:

“What Whitehall must deal with is its talent problem. It is very common for the LinkedIn profiles of officials to be pinged by recruiters offering similar roles with less stress for greater salaries. If you’re a junior security expert, a private consultancy will eagerly double your wage.”
