Lack of joined-up thinking threatens green jobs vision

Manchester Evening News

Jack Richardson, Head of Energy and Climate at Onward writes for Manchester Evening News regarding the UK approach to building a new hydrogen industry. He writes:

“Hydrogen will be a big win for the North. HyNet North West, a carbon capture and hydrogen cluster around Manchester and Liverpool, will provide 6,000 direct jobs and bring £17 billion to the region in investment.

The East Coast Cluster – connecting Tees Valley to Humberside – will add £2 billion of output to the area’s economy and nearly 12,000 direct jobs. Investment and innovation like this is the only way to maintain public support for net zero.”
