UK lagging behind other countries in developing green technologies to get to net zero

On July 12th, we published Green Shoots, which explains how innovation in green technologies is needed to drive progress towards net zero.

The report notes that “the UK is lagging behind other countries in developing green technologies to achieve net zero” –iNews.

Yahoo Finance reports that “One of the major challenges is that there are currently only 1,200 plumbers capable of installing heat pumps in the whole of the UK.”

Writing for the Telegraph about the Government’s target to install 600,000 heat pumps a year by 2028, Alex Luke says that “if this “big bet” is to pay off, further innovation will be needed to lower their cost and boost their performance.”
