“At a time when The Conservative Party is seeking new ideas to guide it, Onward will provide them. The Future of Conservatism will build on our existing research with three extensive papers that will seek to refine conservatism after our current economic and social model has reached the end of the road.

Onward is launching a new project this week to restore Britain’s “national community” – a new social, cultural and economic basis for the Conservative party after senior figures have concluded now is the moment for “another phase of modernisation”.

The Future of Conservatism project is a year-long commission that will make a bold case for a new conservatism through the examination of the party’s intellectual, economic, cultural and social foundations.

Alongside a series of public events, it will produce three substantial research papers focusing on the intellectual, economic, and cultural and social case for the Tory party to renew and refresh itself. It will set out a policy platform that encompasses the majority of Conservative MPs, activists and thinkers.
